At Naturallogic, we’re passionate about the intelligence of whole-plant nutrition and the integrity of ingredients that deliver true results. The moment we began fermenting, everything changed—unlocking deeper potency and transforming how we work with plants.
Winemaking has been a tradition in my family for generations, and one year, almost by accident, I began experimenting with our family wine in my formulations. That experiment turned into countless hours of study and testing, revealing its remarkable benefits for skin health and vitality. What began as a seasonal indulgence for our limited edition Luna Mask has since become a cornerstone ingredient in some of our most loved formulas.
The Nutritional Intelligence of Fermented Grapes
Fermented red wine grapes are packed with essential vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that nourish skin at every level. Through fermentation, these nutrients become more active, bioavailable, and effective.
Vitamins B, C, and E — energize, repair, and protect.
Minerals (potassium, magnesium, iron) — support hydration and oxygenation.
Polyphenols, flavonoids, resveratrol, and tannins — strengthen collagen and defend against oxidative stress.
Amino acids and enzymes — promote smooth texture and resilient structure.
Fermentation breaks down compounds, enhances nutrient delivery, and creates post-biotic metabolites that support both skin cells and its microbiome.
How Red Wine Works on the Skin
Red wine and fermented grapes benefit the skin on multiple levels—addressing both surface renewal and deeper cellular function to restore balance, radiance, and long-term vitality.
Surface-level Renewal
Mild natural acids and enzymes gently resurface for smoother texture and luminosity.Polyphenols provide antioxidant protection against oxidative stress.
Cellular-level Vitality
Resveratrol and grape flavonoids activate repair pathways and support collagen synthesis.Antioxidants counteract environmental and metabolic stress, preventing premature aging.Stimulates microcirculation and oxygenation — vital for radiant, balanced skin.Result: skin that functions optimally and visibly glows with health.

“We ferment our grapes and extract their wine in-house. Each batch takes half a year or more to produce and harvest. Over the course of several lunar cycles, the grapes ferment, settle beneath the wine and are harvested at each New Moon.”
Autophagy. The Driver of Cellular Renewal.
Autophagy is the skin’s natural renewal process—its way of clearing out damaged cells so new, healthy ones can thrive.
Resveratrol and polyphenols help trigger this process, supporting ongoing cellular renewal.
Fermentation enhances these effects by creating smaller, more active nutrients the skin can easily use.
Regular stimulation of autophagy keeps skin clear, smooth, and resilient over time.
The Barrier, the Microbiome & Fermented Skincare
Fermented ingredients don’t simply nourish—they help skin stay balanced, strong, and self-sustaining. By supporting both the barrier and microbiome, they create the foundation for long-term skin health and resilience.
Fermented ingredients feed beneficial microbes, promoting a balanced skin ecosystem.
Strengthens the lipid barrier and reduces reactivity.
Post-biotic compounds enhance hydration, immunity, and skin communication.
